Muriel Reed
Age 82 of Minerva died Tuesday April 24, 2012 in Minerva Eldercare. She was born Feb. 24, 1930 in Pattersonville to Charles and Grace (Davenport) Palmer. She retired from the Village of Minerva where she had worked for many years. She graduated from Augusta High School and is a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, a former Sunday School Teacher and was the Chairman of the Helping Hands Committee for many years. She spent many years in the service to others having helped the Minerva Area Red Cross and Minerva Salvation Army.
She is survived by two sons; Randy (Vicki) Reed of Chicago and John Reed of Minerva, three grandchildren; Melinda (Robert) Young of Chicago, Ryland and Derek Reed of Columbus, 2 great grandchildren; Landon Reed and Aubrey Young. She is preceded in death by 2 sisters; Edna Carroll and Dorothy Horton.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva United Methodist Church.
