Mildred Blevins, age 91, died Monday, April 18, 2012 in Murrell's Inlet, SC. She was born in Ohio, the daughter of John and Hannah Hoopes. She was a longtime member of the East Rochester United Methodist Church, the WSCS Women's Society, a charter member of the East Rochester Garden Club, the Ohio Farm Bureau and involved for many years with Meals on Wheels. She was an active member of Socastee United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women's Hope Circle. She enjoyed family, friends, gardening, Bible study, her Bunco group and was an avid reader.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Austin Blevins; son-in-law, David Wagner and a grandson, Manuel Rivera.
She is survived by daughters, Peggy Kastner and fiancé, Chuck Muravnick of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Christine Wagner of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Terry (Tom) Allen of Salem, OR; son, Rick (Annette) Blevins of Socastee, SC; grandchildren, Robert (Pam) Green, Alicia (Dan) Calhoun, Brittany and Andy Allen; great grandchildren, Austin and Spencer Green, and Triston Calhoun; and family and friends in Ohio and South Carolina.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with burial in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery to follow.
