Obituary
Michael Raymond Durkin, age 58, of Alliance, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Robert and Dolores (McCarty) Durkin. After graduating from Walsh College in 1978, he worked at the Stark County Public Defender's office for 7 years. He opened Durkin Investigations in Minerva, Ohio and operated his own business for 25 years before working as a Court Administrator in the Alliance Municipal Court and later as Clerk of Courts in Carroll County Municipal Court.
He is survived by his daughter, Danielle "Elle" Durkin of Canton; son, Jon-Michael Durkin of Mountain View, California; brother, John Durkin of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a granddaughter, Isis Durkin; and nephews Evan and Keean Durkin.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 – 4 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Durkin Education Fund for his granddaughter Isis.
