Melvin R. Kimble Sr.
Age 69, of East Rochester, passed away, Thursday, June 21, 2018, in Aultman Hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1948 in Waynesburg, PA to Russell and Helen (Hennen) Kimble. Melvin graduated from Minerva High School in 1969 and then went into the Army and served during the Vietnam War. After the Army he worked for Conrail Railroad and then went to work for Burns Cold Forge in Minerva where he worked for 38 years.
He is survived by his wife of 46½ years, Lurena B. (Long) Kimble, whom he married Dec. 11, 1971; 3 children, Melvin (Amanda) Kimble Jr. of Minerva, Jamie (Emily) Kimble of Minerva and Johnny (Jill) Long; sister, Clair Kimble of Massillon; brother, Roger W. Kimble of Utah; 6 grandchildren, Alex, Lucas, Melvin III, Lurena M., Cody, Zack, and a great grandchild, Aden. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Kimble, and a brother, Jack Kimble.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Liberty Cemetery.
