Maxine M. Nigro

Age 95, of Minerva, passed away, Saturday, September 2, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family.  She was born Feb. 23, 1928 in Augusta to John and Inez (Wallace) McCort.  She was a cook for the Minerva Local Schools and the Elementary School for many years.  She graduated from Augusta High School and is a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Nigro who died in 2008 and 3 sisters, Catherine Breault, Ruth Hillyer and Frances Witts. She is survived by 2 daughters, Connie (Dennis) Dinger of Minerva, Cathy Nigro of Minerva, 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Grimes, Joey (Sarah) Nigro and 4 great grandchildren, Dodger, Winter, Caden and Caley.

A family graveside service will be held in the chapel at East Lawn Cemetery with Joey Nigro officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
