Mary Kathryn Tarbet

Age 95, of Minerva, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 in the Salem Regional Hospital.  She was born Oct. 17, 1925 in Minerva to Chauncey and Mary (Leyda) Bates.  She was a housewife and had worked at the American Switch in Minerva and the Minerva 5 & 10.  She was also the bookkeeper for Jet-O-Chem Inc. for many years.  She is a member of the Minerva First Presbyterian Church and she graduated from Minerva High School.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Tarbet who died in 2002, 2 sisters, Ruth Maxwell and Romaine Nidy, 3 brothers, Robert, Donald and James. Bates.  She is survived by 2 sons, Jon Michael (Linda) Tarbet, William Bret Tarbet both of Leetonia, and 2 grandchildren, Joy Tarbet and Jon Matthew Tarbet.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Brittany Hesson officiating.  Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to services from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
