Mary Kathryn Sommers

Age 97, of East Rochester, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in Brookdale of Alliance.  She was born April 8, 1927 in Hartville to the late Jonathan and Fannie (Overholt) King. She is a member of the Minerva Christian Fellowship Church. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting, flower gardening and singing. She loved spending time with her family and was known for her hospitality.

She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 71 years, Raymond Sommers who died in 2020, sister, Dorothy Beachy and 2 brothers, Wilmer and Marvin King.  She is survived by 3 daughters, Karen Detweiler of Sarasota, FL, Dorothy Bender of Leetonia, Margaret (Dennis) Miller of Louisville, 2 sons, John Sommers of East Rochester and James (Diane) Sommers of Hamilton, MT, 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 10:00 am at the Minerva Christian Fellowship Church at 9457 Rochester Rd. (East Rochester) Minerva. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 5-8 pm at the church.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
