Mary Martha Roebuck
Age 88 went peacefully home to the Lord Thursday March 3, 2011 at the Village of Westerville Retirement Center where she was a resident for the past 6 years. She was born Sept. 2, 1922 in Minerva to Charles and Edna (Perdue) Hines. Mary resided in Minerva until she married the love of her life, Army Air Corps First Lieutenant Vincent A. Roebuck on May 11th 1943. They traveled with the military until again settling in Minerva, Mogadore and finally Wooster where they lived together until Vincent passed away on March 4th, 2005. She was a fulltime mother working occasionally in retail and as a bookkeeper. She was active in her Church and enjoyed being a volunteer at the Wooster Community Hospital. During their retirement Mary and Vince traveled and enjoyed several cruises and a trip to Hawaii. Most of all she enjoyed her family and 24 grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Bonnie) Roebuck of Lakeland, FL, daughter, Carol (Raymond) Tommer of Little River, SC, son, William (Nanette) Roebuck of Westerville. Mary and Vince were proud to have 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Her kindness and devotion will be deeply missed by those her heart touched.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Dr. Norman Moxley officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
