Mary Ellis McGowan

Age 89, of Minerva, went to her heavenly home on Sat., Dec. 23, 2017. She was born Aug. 12, 1928 in Patton's Mill, OH to Clarence and Lois (Martin) Fleming. She was the secretary for the Minerva United Methodist Church for many years, retired from Minerva Welding and had also worked for the Minerva Wax Paper. She is a member of the Christ Memorial Church in Dellroy.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Wayne Ellis and Charles McGowan, daughter, Susan Grubbs in 2010 and 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by 2 sons, Bill (Genie) Ellis of East Rochester, Michael (Jenny) Ellis of Minerva, son-in-law, Roger Grubbs of Robertsville, 7 grandchildren, Marc (Lori), Jefferson (Lisa), Todd (Elizabeth), Joseph (Sarah), Christopher (Shelby), Nicholas (Emilie), Melissa (Bryan) and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 noon in the Minerva United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Welch officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to services from 10-12 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice.
