Marty G. Gubesch

Age 63, of Minerva, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017. He was born April 27, 1953 in Canton to Martin Gubesch of Canton and the late Katherine (Christian) Gubesch. He was a salesman for Midwest Homes for 24 years. He graduated from Glenwood High School.  He attended  the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Homeworth. He worked as a police officer for the Canton Police Aux. for 4 years and was a member of the Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199 and the Sachsenheim Hall in Canton. He was a former member of Canton 60, F&AM and the 32 Degree Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton. He loved to sing and play musical instruments and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley.

In addition to his father, he is survived by the greatest love of his life, his wife of 43 years,  Stella (Strader) Gubesch whom he married Sept. 8, 1973, and his family, 2 sons, Martin "Eric" Gubesch of Malvern and Michael Gubesch of Minerva, brother, Scott (Debbie) Gubesch of Canton, sister, Kathy (Jim) Omicinski of Canton, and he loved his 9 grandchildren and taking them for a ride on his lawnmower. Martin was blessed to have such great friends who also helped care for him during his illness.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Rev. David Cannon officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Memorial Park. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Aultman Dialysis Foundation or Mercy Hospice.
