Marion V. Kibler
age 98, of Minerva and Harlingen, TX, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 in his daughter's home in New Franklin following an extended illness. He was born June 1, 1912 in Egypt, OH to Art and Lillian (Behner) Kibler. He was the owner/operator of Kibler's Service Station in New Franklin from 1946 to 1959 where they sold Gulf gas and groceries. He retired from the New York Central and Penn Central Railroads as an engineer after 43 years of service. Following retirement he moved to Harlingen, TX. He was a life member of the Elks Club and a member of the Minerva Eagles Club.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Twila (Tomlinson) Kibler who died in 1978; wife, Vera (Maxwell) Kibler who passed in 1996; son-in-law Tom Samber, 2 sisters, Jane Hawkins and Tywlah Betz; 2 brothers, Earl and Karl Kibler.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Chris Samber (and James Pemelton) of Harlingen, TX and Gwen (Colin) Logsdon of Minerva; a son, Doug (Becky) Kibler of Homeworth; 2 brothers, J. David (Joanne) Kibler of Minerva and Jack (Nancy) Kibler of Minerva; 4 grandchildren, Amanda and Michael Kibler, Christy (Brett) Yeagley and Casey Logsdon; 1 great granddaughter, Callie Yeagley.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 1:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Bill Wright officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday one hour prior to services. The family would like to thank the Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice for all of their wonderful care.
