Marilyn A. Haynam, age 73 of Alliance and formerly Malvern and East Rochester died Thursday March 10, 2011 in Roselawn Terrace in Alliance. She was born Feb. 5, 1938 in Damascas to Arlan "Bud" and Evelyn (Schoeni) Hoopes. She was an apartment manager in Malvern and Calcutta. She is a member of the Bayard United Methodist Church, a graduate of Goshen High School in 1955. She was the former Director of the West Twp. Ruritan Club Gee Haw Show, former member of the Bayard Grange and the Columbiana County Farm Bureau. She was an avid dancer and coach of the East Rochester "Jaguars" girls fast pitch softball team.
She is survived by two daughters; LeeAnn (Tom) Embaugh of Marlboro and Tanya (Vince) Carter of Carrollton and a son Jeff (Lori) Haynam of East Rochester, 3 brothers; Don (Cressie) Hoopes of Damascas, Butch Hoopes of Alliance and Buddy (Lela Mae) Hoopes of Beloit and 7 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a brother Bob Hoopes and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 4:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Calling hours will be two hours prior to services from 2-4 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roselawn Terrace Activity Fund.
