Lynne C. Unkefer

Age 83, of Minerva, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 in Akron General Hospital. She was born July 5, 1939 in Alliance to the late Marvin and Mildred (Carr) Boyd. She taught Elementary Education in the Alliance and Minerva School Districts.  She graduated from Alliance High School and received her Bachelor's in Education from Mount Union College where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.  She is a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Alliance Elks Aux., a member of the Alliance Women's Club where she loved playing cards with her friends, the Minerva San Souci Club and the Atwood Yacht Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Unkefer who died in 2015. She is survived by her son, Matthew Unkefer of Minerva, cousins, Greg and Maggie Unkefer of Alliance, Caro Self of Lincolnton, NC, Linda Simms of Malvern, Bonnie Unkefer of Flower Mound, TX, Barbara Raber of Alliance and her best friend, Gail Gress of Louisville and good friends, Don Bandy of Homeworth, Shawn Stein and Krissy Webb both of Minerva.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 12 noon in Fairmount Memorial Park in Alliance with Rev. Peggy Garner officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva United Methodist Church.
