Lowell L. Smith, age 85, of Minerva, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 in Alliance Community Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1929 in Beloit to Lorin and Marie (Harlan) Smith. He was the co-owner of Maple View Dairy Farm. He is a member of the Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Homeworth, a 60 year member and past master of Greeley Grange #1741, Pamona, State and National Grange. He graduated from Goshen High School in 1947 and is a US Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Heim) Smith whom he married Dec. 10, 1950; daughter, Marie Ann (Mike) Clark of Plain City; son, Kenneth (Vicki) Smith of Minerva; 3 grandchildren, Adam (Megan) Smith of Cuyahoga Falls, Valerie Smith of Kent and Abagael Clark of Plain City; and a great granddaughter, McKenna Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Esther (Hunter) Smith; and a sister, Virginia Fahrni.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Tracy Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery.
