Lois M. Walker
Lois Walker, age 79, of Paris passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011 in Mercy Medical Center. Lois was born May 16, 1932 in Pekin to the late George and Olive (Wright) Smith. She was a homemaker who loved crafts, having taught ceramics for many years. More recently, she made many beautiful award winning quilts and tote bags to be treasured by her family. She is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Franklin and delivered meals for Minerva Community Meals for many years.
Lois leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 62 years, Olen Walker whom she married Oct. 19, 1949; daughters, Barbara (Frank) Tatka of Louisville and Andrea (Larry) Cowden of SC; sons, Charles (Lori) Walker of Malvern, Dale (Darlene) Walker of Akron and Russell (Sonia) Walker of East Rochester; sister, Betty Pallone of Orlando, FL; brother, George (Jerri) Smith of Robertsville; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in St. John's Lutheran Church in New Franklin with Rev. Joseph Ertl officiating. Burial will be in New Franklin Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 1-3 and 6-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva Community Meals.
