Lois Shaffer
Age 80 of Minerva died Thursday Nov. 24, 2011 in Aultman Hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1931 in Canton to Jesse and Della (Parks) Davenport. She was a professional organist having played for many area churches. She was a founding member of the Minerva Grace Brethren Church. She graduated from Timken High School, is a Past Vice-President of Community Concerts in Alliance and a 55 year member of Pike Grange #1699.
She is survived by her husband Michael Shaffer Jr. whom she married July 28, 1950, two sons; Michael (Vicki) Shaffer of Robertsville and Bruce (Michele) Shaffer of Minerva, two brothers; Jesse (Katherine) Davenport of Ocala, FL and Tom (Donna) Davenport of Louisville, six grandchildren; Tami (John) Rascona of Calumet, MI, Valerie (Thomas) Perry of Johnson City, TN, Raelyn (Brian) Coates of Amherst, NH, Arryn (Billy) Slutz of East Canton, Adam (Haley) Shaffer of Poland and Andrew Shaffer of N. Canton, and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. John Dilling officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3-5 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.
