Linda L. Brown, age 70, of Alliance, died Wed., Nov. 13, 2013 in Alliance Community Care Center. She was born March 2, 1943 in Canton to the late Albert and Norma (Hummel) Whitacre, Jr. She was a homemaker, had worked as a Nurses Aid for Minerva Eldercare and had worked as a baker in Canfield and Minerva. She was a 1961 graduate of Minerva High School.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Rebecca (James) Denman of Kensington and Michele (Phil) Smith of Jefferson City, TN; 2 sons, James (Bonnie) Brown of Beloit and Russell "Charlie" Brown and Tim Babcock of Minerva; sister, Mary Ann (Jay) Snively of Groveland, FL; 2 brothers, James (Beth) Whitacre of Alliance and Mark Whitacre of Alliance; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters-in-law, ReeAnn Whitacre of Minerva and Linda M. Brown of Tucson, AZ. She is preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Whitacre.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Rick Brendlinger officiating. Calling hours will be Friday 6-8 pm. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
