Leroy F. Layfield, Age 52, of Minerva, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at Aultman Hospital. He was born April 21, 1963 in Canton to James A. Layfield, Jr. and Faye (Thompson) Marteney. He worked as a mechanic for Green's GMC in East Rochester. He enjoyed tractor pulls, working on his 1971 blue Duster, his dogs and good looking women.

He is survived by 4 sisters, Diana (Frank) McClelland of Malvern, Therese Layfield-Dunlap of Las Vegas, Nev., Connie (Tony) Smith of Lisbon and Cheryl (Paul) Kawecki of New Middletown, 7 nieces and nephews, Shelly Ann Criss, Elle Smith, Hannah McClelland, Adam Kawecki, Trever Kawecki, Frank McClelland and Jacob McClelland.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 1 pm in the Chapel at East Lawn Cemetery with Robert Smith officiating. "The Leroy Layfield Memorial Fund" has been set up at the Minerva Area Federal Credit Union. Funds will be used to provide a headstone.
