Age 55, of Carrollton, passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family.  He was born November 20, 1969 in Los Angeles, CA to Leona (Sallade) Gray and Leonard Andrew Bates Sr. He was a handyman and enjoyed working outside.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Leona and Richard Gray of Carrollton, father Leonard Andrew Bates Sr. of Alliance, 2 daughters, Porshia Bates of Minerva, Shameless Bates of Carrollton, a son, Cruz Bates of Carrollton, brother, Larry (Beth) Bates of Minerva, and 6 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Bates.
