Lavonda June Ware

Age 78, of Minerva, died Thursday, March 7, 2019. She was born April 12, 1940 in Belington, WV to Howard and Hazel (Bennett) Cross. She was a 1958 graduate of Belington High School, worked at GTE and was a Real Estate Salesman at Marks & Taylor Real Estate and First Realty. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Laurel Mountain Post #410 of Belington.

She is preceded in death by her husband, whom she married February 14, 1970, Cecil Ware who died December 23, 2016; 1 sister and 6 brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Leisa (Jason) Howard of Minerva; a son, Bryan (Chrissy Morrow) Ware of Minerva; 3 sisters, Winona Feldman of Mansfield, Francis Jones of Cortland, Sharon (Hobert) Vanover of Louisville; 2 grandchildren, Joshua (Tracy) Howard, Kaeley Boyle; 4 great grandchildren Justin Howard, Alyssa Sellers, Charity Howard, Aria Howard; and her beloved pet, Ozzy

A joint graveside service will be held for Lavonda and Cecil on Sunday, March 31 at 12:00 noon at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery with Dave Napier officiating. A funeral dinner will be held at 1:00 at the Minerva VFW. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's or Aultman Hospice.
