Larry James Sr.
Age 63, of Canton, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 in Aultman Hospital. He was born May 30, 1951 in Alliance to Dorothy (Grogg) (James) Lucas of Minerva and the late William "Bill" James. He was a self-employed tile setter and had worked for Hosner Carpet. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1969 and is a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Canton, FOE Aerie #2370 in Canton and was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and trapping.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Deanne (Seckler) James whom he married Nov. 4, 2006, son, Larry (Kelly) James Jr. of Carrollton, 2 daughters, Lisa (Greg) Watkins of New Philadelphia and Leslie (Terry) Barrick of St. Charles, LA, sister, Brenda (Bob) Day of Minerva, step brother and step sister, W.A. (Marie) Lucas and Toddy (Dave) King, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, sister, Connie Manello and stepfather, Mark Lucas.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Darla Ann Kratzer officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to services from 11 to 1pm.
