Larry H. Houze, Age 77, of Minerva, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 30, 1939 in Minerva to Harvey and Maxine (Strahm) Houze. He was the owner of Tip Top Cleaners. He retired in 2004 from PCC Airfoils in Minerva where he was an X-ray technician for 50 years. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1957 and attended Mount Union. He is a member of Peace United Methodist Church in Louisville, and participated in the Emmaus Walk for Christ and attended promise keepers. He is a US Army Veteran and member of the Malvern American Legion Post #375.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Walker) Houze whom he married in 1981, 3 daughters, Jamie Smith (Mark Hohler) of Malvern, Barbara (Pennie) Clayson of Ceres, NY, Derin Houze of Minerva, 4 sons, Lee (Stephanie) Barnett of Massillon, "Bill" Robert (Christine) Barnett of Louisville, Mark (Kelly) Houze of Beach City, Jeff (Betty) Pierce of Canton, sister, Sondra Houze of Malvern, brother, John Houze of Malvern, and his many special grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Dr. Rev. Nancy Conley & Rev. Bill Sowers officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 1-3 and 6-8 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canton Calvary Mission or the Wounded Warrior Project.
