Larry R. Campbell
Age 74, of Augusta, died peacefully, Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 in Aultman Hospital. He was born March 30, 1947 in Augusta to the late Wendell "Wimp" and Ann (Siofletia) Campbell. He was a machinist at TRW in Minerva and worked as a security guard for James River Corp and was a detailer at Garber Ford in Green Cove Springs, FL. He also was Supervisor of the arcade at the Shell Factory in North Fort Myers, FL. He is a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and received a purple heart and a bronze star. He is a member of the Minerva VFW Post #4120, Malvern American Legion Post #375 and a former member of the Minerva Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Applegate) Campbell whom he married March 30, 1984, 3 sons, Robert Lee (and fiancé, Robin) Campbell of Cape Coral, FL, Larry Wendell Campbell of Augusta, Larry Adrian Campbell of Augusta, daughter, Monica "Mickey" (Richard) Holten of Jesup, GA, 4 brothers, Jerry "Butch" (Sue) Campbell of Green Cove Springs, FL, Jim Campbell of East Rochester, Tom Campbell of Minerva, Randy (Barb) Campbell of East Rochester, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, Judith Campbell and a brother, Bill Campbell.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 9 th at 3 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Randy Campbell officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Augusta Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to services on Saturday from 1-3pm.
