Kenneth E. Smith, age 72, of Minerva, died Sunday, Feb. 8th, 2015 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born Sept. 26, 1942 in Libby, MT to the late Charles and Violet (Sungen) Smith. He was an oil field worker for Quaker State Oil Co. and had worked for the Timken Co. He is a member of the Minerva Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife, Fran (Bittner) Smith whom he married Aug. 4, 1966; stepmother, Loretta Smith of Largo, FL; daughter, Carla (Jeff) Kerns of Malvern; 5 sons, Kenneth R. (Angela Sue) Smith of Dellroy, Michael S. Smith of Canton, Kevin C. Smith of Minerva, David Edward (Cheryl) Smith of Wooster and Roger K. (Debbie) Smith of Cambridge; 4 sisters, Sharon Bailey of Largo, FL, Cynthia Cales of Malvern, Patsy G. Harper of Albany, OR and Cathy R. Smith of Largo, FL; 2 brothers, Richard "Rick" (Judy) Thompson of AZ and Robert Edward (Bonnie) Smith of Waynesburg; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Smith and 2 grandchildren.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Friday at 4 pm in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Minerva with Joe Wollam officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services from 3-4 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth E. Smith memorial fund c/o Consumers National Bank.
