Katie (Beachy) Sommers
Age 88, of Minerva, OH, passed on to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2013. She was born in Hartville, Ohio on December 28, 1924 to Benedict and Anna (Hostetler) Beachy. On January 1, 1946 she married John Sommers. John preceded her in death on July 21, 2011. She was a member at Minerva Christian Fellowship, where she shared in fellowship with other believers.
One daughter, Miriam, preceded her in death on October 27, 2008. The nine surviving children are: Joseph (Sharon) of Minerva, Mervin of North Canton, Eli (Barbara) of Hiddenite, NC, Paul (Mary) of Baltic, Willis (Marlene) of Salisbury, PA, Martha of Minerva, Mary (Freeman) Byler of North Bloomfield, Reuben (Miriam) of Salisbury, PA and Marlene of Minerva. There are 41 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Fannie Hostetler of Benton, Edith (Floyd) Miller of Colorado Springs, CO and Martha (Bill) Gingerich of Hartville.
Calling hours are Tuesday, June 25 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Minerva Christian Fellowship, 9457 Rochester Rd., Minerva, OH. Funeral services will be at the Minerva Christian Fellowship on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 10 am. Her body will be interred at the church cemetery. The family treasures the memories of their mother's love for God and her family and looks forward to a reunion in heaven.
