John Rock
Age 85, of Malvern, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 in the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 27, 1929 in Malvern to Salvatore "Sam" and Mary (Covate) Raco. He retired from Timken Steel. He is a member of the Malvern United Methodist Church, was a graduate of McKinley High School and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a loving grandfather and was an avid woodworker and especially loved his garden, and hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean (Unkefer) Rock who died in 2014, daughter-in-law, Carol Rock, sisters and brothers-in-laws; Marie and Albert Fisher, Eugene Pasquali, Helen and Joseph Sinay and Nathan Faye, brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Betty Malfe and Joseph Raco. He is survived by 2 daughters; Cindy (William) Rine of Minerva and Jeanie (Patrick) Lieser of Minerva, son, Thomas (Deb) Rock of Angola, IN, 2 sisters, Edith Pasquali of Canton and Frances Faye of Canton, sister-in-law, Becky Raco of Canton, 4 grandchildren; Amy (Josh) Campbell, Rebecca (Kevin) Putt, Michael Lieser and Jonathan Lieser, 3 great grandchildren; Laney Campbell, Kennedy Putt and Shelby Putt and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial with full military services will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 5-8 pm in the funeral home.
