John Milliken. 1931-2023

John Hagan Milliken, age 91, of Minerva, passed away June 13, 2023.

He was born June 15, 1931, in East Palestine to Ed and Vera (Schull) Milliken. He was a ceramic engineer during his career, including at Structural Stoneware in Minerva and most recently at Stark Ceramics in East Canton prior to his retirement. He had also worked for General Color in Minerva and Summitville Tile.

He served the community as a past president and elected member of the Minerva Local Schools board of education, the Minerva representative to the RG Drage Career Center board of education, a past president of the Minerva Lions Club, and a member of the Minerva Rotary Club. He graduated from East Palestine High School in 1949 and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from The Ohio State University.

He was preceded in death in 2015 by his wife of 59 years, Beverly Ann (Cross) Milliken, whom he married June 24, 1956; his twin brother Joe, brother Don, and sister Merilee Emerick.

He is survived by three daughters, Lynette (Rodney) Beaber of North Canton, Renee (Joe) Magnacca of Wadsworth, Sharalyn Milliken of North Canton; four sons, Kevin Milliken of suburban Toledo, Todd Milliken of Cuyahoga Falls, Darren Milliken of Los Angeles, Calif., Brian (Kathy) Milliken of Twinsburg; eight grandchildren, Katie (Joe) Collins, Karissa Magnacca, Kalina Beaber, Matthew Beaber, Jonathan Milliken, Grace, Jordyn, and Michael Milliken; and two great grandchildren, Quinn and Carmen.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev.
