John C. Grogg

Age 67, of Canton, died Aug. 16, 2017 in his home. He was born January 21, 1950 in Great Lakes, IL to John and Kathleen (Dailey) Grogg. He retired from Timken Co. after 30 years. He served for 4 years as US Marine and 20 years in the Air Force National Guard. He served during Vietnam, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a big Cleveland Indians Fan. He loved to go to the games and watch them. He loved going to his cabin in Indiana to fish and go out on his boats. He loved his family and friends with all his heart and made sure they were taken care of. He especially loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by the love of his life, Francis Grogg-Calfy of New Rumley; 3 sons, David (Dawn) Grogg of Linden Washington, William Grogg of Magnolia, Jonathan (Rhonda) Grogg of Minerva; Brothers, Phillip Grogg of Tempe, AZ, and Doug Grogg; 11 Grandchildren, Michael, Billie Jo, Brandon, Savanah, David Jr., Samantha, Tyler, Rochelle, and Andrea Grogg, Trista Howel and Misty Ady; 5 great-grandchildren Andriana, Gabriella, Makenzie, Jaylynn and Eli.  He is preceded in death by a brother, David Grogg and a grandson Chipper Grogg.

Funeral Services will be Monday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours will be Sunday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
