John P. Finnegin Sr.

Age 81, of East Rochester, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025 in the Aultman-Alliance Hospital.  He was born July 15, 1944 in Canton to Michael and Pauline (Rogers) Finnegin.  He retired from Summitville Tile in Minerva where he had worked for over 30 years.  He graduated from Louisville High School in 1962 and attended Faith Fellowship Church in Minerva.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary (Norton) Finnegin whom he married Nov. 2, 1963, daughter, Kelleen (Greg) Weber of East Canton, 2 sons, John "Jeep" Finnegin Jr. of Amsterdam, Timothy (Jennifer) Finnegin of Canton, sister-in-law, Rosemary Finnegin of Canton, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and one on the way.  He is preceded in death by a sister and her husband, Faye and John Stertzbach, brother, Mike Finnegin and a brother and his wife, James and Sandy Finnegin.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chet Howes officiating.  Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to services from 10-11 am at the funeral home.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
