John "Dick" Ehmer, age 79, of Waynesburg, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013. He was a graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Dick was a retired Carpenter/Contractor. He was an avid sports fan.

Dick was the son of the late John and Adelaide (Eckenrode) Ehmer, and brother of the late Derrell Ehmer. He is survived by his sister, Connie Ehmer; and brother, Danny (Bonnie) Ehmer; Children, Mary Kay (George) Davis, Peggy (Bob) Brown, Mark (Paula) Ehmer, Joan (Ron) Wadian, and Kurt D. Ehmer. He had 13 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews. May Dick rest in peace, and be enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 14, at 9:00 am in St James Catholic Church in Waynesburg with Fr. Joseph Zamary as celebrant. Military honors will be accorded right after mass at the church followed by a 1:15 pm burial in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
