Jesse V. Keen
Age 70, of Minerva, died Sat., May 21, 2016. He was born Oct. 20, 1945 in Rochelle, IL to the late Clyde and Dorothy (Shaw) Keen. He was a short and long distance truck driver having worked for PEP Oil, Midwest Homes in Minerva, Mideast Trucking Co. and owner of his own business, Keen's Mobile Transport. He is a member of Ten Post Baptist Church in Wayne City, IL, Orel Lodge #759 Masonic Lodge F&AM, the Minerva Eagles and Minerva VFW Aux. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, loved country music and southern gospel and his dog, Rascal and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Renda (Schlott) Keen whom he married June 12, 1972, 9 children, Joyce Favors of TX, Erle Gardner of TX, Dee (Lynn) Green of VA, Richard (Traci) Gardner of Minerva, Melody (Christopher) Ward of Sebring, Theresa (Donnie) Locke of Minerva, Jesse W. (Tabitha) Keen of East Canton, Teri (James) Trimble of Minerva, John (Mandi) Keen of East Rochester, 6 sisters and a brother, Betty (Gary) Warren of IL, Debbie (Ed) Ayers of IL, Rita (Tom) Sager of IL, Judy (John) Gabbard of IL, Patty (Wayne) Robertson of IL, Vera Rawls of IL, Roger (Carolyn) Keen of IL, several loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews, and a special mention to Cecil Garner and all of his buddied at Holland's and Hardees. He will be greeted in Heaven by a son, Del K. Gardner Sr., 2 sisters, Wanda Kincart, Leona Robertson, 2 brothers, Mervin and Richard Keen and grandchildren, great grandchildren and many family members.
Funeral services in Ohio will be held Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Calling hours will be 5-7 pm prior to services. Funeral services will be held in Wayne City, IL on Friday at 11:00 am in the Ten Post Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Rector officiating. Calling hours will be held Thursday 5-8 pm in the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with travel expenses.
