Age 71 of East Rochester is in the arms of Jesus, Sunday Sept. 23, 2012 in Minerva Eldercare. She was born April 23, 1941 in New Waterford to Richard and Freida (Oehling) Firestone. She was a housewife, graduate of Fairfield Waterford High School in 1959, member of the East Rochester United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a former Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, member of the Board of Trustees and membership chairman.
She is survived by her husband, George Picknell whom she married Feb. 14, 1981, 2 daughters, Heidi Yeager of Alliance, Bonita Gray of East Rochester, son, John (Cindy) Goldman of Warren, 5 stepchildren; Grace Earl of NC, Shirley Wells of Minerva, Cathy Waldrop of TN, Donald Picknell and Ica of Minerva and Roger (Michelle) Picknell of TN, 2 sisters; Rosemary Musgrave of Concord, CA and Sondra (Gene) Ruiz of FL, 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Richard and Freida (Oehling) Firetstone, a daughter, Connie Yoho, stepdaughter, Darlene Picknell, sister, Ida Belle Firestone and 2 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
