Jean Ann Grunder
Jean Ann Grunder, age 79, of Salem, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 in the Alliance Community Hospital. She was born July 26, 1932 in Sebring to Harry and Alice (Sheen) (Marshall) Peterson. She was a housewife and member of the Minerva United Methodist Church. She was an avid dog show competitor having shown AKC German Shepherds as well as other dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert C. Grunder whom she married Dec. 3, 1948; three daughters, Terri Miller of Alliance, Lori (Mike) Rinaldi of Alliance and Kelli (Steve) Funk of Damascas; son, Robert (Debbie) Grunder of Orchard Park, NY; three sisters, Judy McCoy of Smyrna, GA, Eleanor (Dwight) Phillips of Tombstone, AZ and Alice (Ron) McCarthy; brother, Tom (Susan) Peterson of Canton; 8 grandchildren, Becky Chambers, Robert Grunder, Jill Grunder, Darick Miller, Jennifer (Miller) Leask, Meghan Funk, Ryan Funk and Emily Rinaldi and 9 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Duane Miller.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Chapel at East Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Those unable to attend may sign the register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
