Janice A. Gosiewski
Janice A. (McCollough) Gosiewski (fka Hetherington), age 82, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at The Landing of Canton on January 15, 2021. She was born May 14, 1938 in Minerva, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold E. and Lilly M. McCollough. Our hearts are broken, and our family will never be the same without her, but her kind and loving presence will forever be carried in the hearts and lives of the ones she loved.
Jan retired from The East Central Ohio Food Dealers Association after many years of service. She loved to read, and spent her time enjoying all types of crafts and puzzles, but most of all her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was happiest when she was hosting family in her home and making every occasion special with food, games and laughter. Her home and the time spent with their Grammy will remain her grandchildren's happiest childhood memories.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Christy E. McCollough; husbands, Richard C. Hetherington and Paul J. Gosiewski; grandchildren, Brittany A. Hetherington and Brandon M. Hetherington.
Cherishing Jan's memory are her children, Brad Hetherington of Cranston, RI, Kim Sigler (Bob) of North Canton, Kathy Smitley (Jerry) of North Canton, and Rick Hetherington (Karen) of Omaha, NE; ten grandchildren, Justin (Nicole) and Chad (Kayla) Hetherington, Shauna Niksa; Kristie Hassanien and Megan Sigler; Kaley and Jordan Smitley; Nick, Ryan and Katie Hetherington; as well as five great-grandchildren, Hunter and Harper Hetherington and Hamza, Zainab and Maryam Hassanien.
Due to the current COVID pandemic, there will be no calling hours and a private burial will be held. Final resting place with be at East Lawn Cemetery, Minerva. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at The Landing of Canton and Habor Light Hospice for their loving care.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to one of Jan's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or you may honor her memory with a random act of kindness.
