Janet (Hanson) Witherspoon

Age 87, of Minerva, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026 in the Aultman-Alliance Hospital. She was born April 26, 1939 in Bayard to John and Kathryn “Katie” (Morris) Mease. She founded Electronic Service with her first husband, Dick Hanson and then worked many years for Colfor in Malvern as an Inventory Production Controller. She graduated from Minerva High School and attended Mount Union College.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Witherspoon who died in 2007, son, James “Rick” Hanson who died in 2022, a sister, Carole Weir and 2 brothers, Jack and Bill Mease. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Marty) Willis of Sunbury, 2 grandchildren, Kylee (Bobby) Nguyen, Jacob “Dane” Willis, 3 great grandchildren; Aiden, Parker and Isla Nguyen and a very close friend, Marlene Ludrosky of Minerva.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Peggy Garner officiating.
