Obituary

Janet Ruth Englant (nee Ritchey), age 77, of Robertsville, passed from the arms of her loving family into the arms of the Lord Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Great Trail Care Center in Minerva after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. She was born June 5, 1936, in East Canton, Ohio to the late Roy and Ruth (Hane) Ritchey. As a minister's wife, she cherished the time they served the churches in Keyser, WV, and Pittsfield, PA. Later, as her husband served as president of the church conference, she loved working in the book store of the Allegheny Wesleyan College in Salem, OH and fulfilling her duties as the president's wife. After retirement she worked part time at the Klotz Insurance Agency in Malvern. She was a member of the Robertsville Wesleyan Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. John D. Englant whom she married Aug. 30, 1952; 3 daughters, Elizabeth "Libby" Pearson of Reynoldsburg, Julie (Denny) O'Brien of Canton, Beth (Alan) Haight of Savannah, GA; a son, Dan (Marsha) Englant of Canton; 7 sisters, Beverly (Paul) Young of Bolivar, Helen Ritchey of Louisville, Carol (Jerry) Strait of Robertsville, Edith (Don) Irwin of East Canton, Linda (Jack) Strait of Robertsville, Charlene Harmon of Watauga, TX, Karen ("Bear") Ervin of Louisville; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Betz of Paris, Judy Hale of North Fort Myers, Fl; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a special sister, Beverly Baker of Louisville. She is preceded in death by a son-in-law, L. Steve Pearson.

Funeral services will be Monday at noon at the Robertsville Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Haight and Rev. William Cope officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday form 2-5 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and two hours prior to services at the church.
