James A. Walker
Age 83, of Minerva, died Monday, March 30, 2020 in the Meadow Wind Health Care Center in Massillon. He was born July 7, 1936 in Minerva to Herman and Marjorie (Weikert) Walker. He retired from Bell South and was a US Navy Veteran. He was also an avid bowler.
He is preceded in death by his wives, Nettie J. Walker and Joyce (Burns) Walker; 5 sisters, Norma Gross, Marilyn Midcap, Bernice Tenant, Dorothy Wilt, Phyllis Hamilton; and a brother, Richard Walker. He is survived by 3 stepdaughters, Kim (Ken) Waseman of Massillon, Lee Ann Thorn (David Best) of Bath, Rhonda (Robert) Woodhall of Louisville; 3 stepsons, Rick (Katy) Compton of South Haven, Miss, Joseph (Lisa) Johnston of Louisville, Scott (Sue) Johnston of Canal Fulton; sister-in-law, Bev Walker of Minerva, brother-in-law, Robert Midcap of Minerva and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, TN. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
