James L. VanPelt

Age 85, of Minerva, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023. He was born Nov. 10, 1937 in Canton to LeRoy and Zoe (Needs) VanPelt. He graduated from Minerva High School, attended Akron University and received a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Mount Union.  He had been a barber, worked at Diebold in Canton, Seven-Ranges in Carrollton, past president of Transue and Williams in Alliance and co-owner of Artisan Industries in Cleveland.  He is a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Eleni "Cookie" (Johnson) VanPelt, son, James VanPelt III of Atlanta, brother-in-law, James St. John of Minerva and 2 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, Richard VanPelt.
