James E. Mick
Age 82 of Minerva died Sunday Oct. 9, 2011 in the Alliance Community Hospital. He was born Oct. 5, 1929 in Minerva to Clarence and Bernice (Heath) Mick. He retired from Republic Steel after 35 years of service as a millwright. He is a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He had also been employed by the Louis Petros and Sons Co., Cronin China and was a former Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop #269 in Minerva.
He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy (Recchio) Mick who died in 2007, a sister Muriel Mick. He is survived by a daughter, Sally (Don) Karlen of Minerva, two sons; James (Cathy) Mick Jr. of Carrollton and David (Mary) Mick of Uniontown, two brothers; Thomas (Edith) Mick of Minerva and Daniel (Carol) Mick of Paris, 6 grandchildren, 2 stepgrandchildren, a great grandson, and 2 step great grandchildren.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 am in St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva.
