James N. Hardgrove, age 73, of Minerva, died Sunday, December 14, 2014 in the Minerva Eldercare Center. He was born December 29, 1940 in Canton, OH to Wilbur and Frances (Thompson) Hardgrove. He worked at the Minerva Wax Paper and Central Coated Products before being stricken with multiple sclerosis. He was also a 1959 graduate of Navarre High School.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (Dunbar) Hardgrove whom he married Dec. 23, 1960; a daughter, Brenna (Nate Weimer) Hardgrove of Stow; a son, Michael (Julie) Hardgrove of Minerva; and three grandchildren, Phoenix Hardgrove of Stow, Kassidy Hardgrove of Minerva, and Mayson (Joey Wimsatt) Hardgrove of Minerva.

He is preceded in death by his step parents, Rolland and Almeda Haughter; an infant sister; and 4 brothers, Bob, Tom, Bill and Dale Hardgrove.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in East Lawn Cemetery with Mr. Ray Martin officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Those unable to attend may sign the online register book at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
