James L. First

Age 70, of Minerva, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 16, 1949 in Bayard. He retired from Verizon. He is a US Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War and is a member of the Minerva VFW Post #4120, Sebring American Legion Post #76, and the Louisville Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Pat (Wyss) First; mother, Barbara  (Betty) McIntosh of Minerva, 4 daughters, Shanna First of Minerva, Kimberly Heestand of Cincinnati, Lynnette (Larry) Kline of Louisville, Stephanie (Tony) Bargides of Minerva; 2 brothers, William (Dannah) McIntosh of North Pole AK, Bob (Cindy) First of Minerva; sister-in-law, Denise First of Shawnee, KA; 5 grandchildren, Katelane, KyLeigh, Erik, Isabella, Jordyn; 3 great grandchildren, Ellery, Mason, Leah; Many close friends and neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his fathers, Carl First and John McIntosh, sister, Heidi First; 2 brothers, Larry and Karl First and son-in-law, William Heestand.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at a later date.
