James E. Fields, age 73, of Canton, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born Oct. 31, 1942 in Canton to Cecil and Ruby (Taylor) Fields. He was the owner of Fields Refrigeration in Canton for over 40 years. He is also a graduate of Timken High School and a US Army Veteran.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Earley) Fields who died in 2014; daughter, Merri Mallette; a son, James Fields; a sister, Helen; a brother, Charles; and a great granddaughter. He is survived by 3 daughters, Jamie Fields of Canton, Tammi (Richard) White of Minerva, Terri Merriner of Canton; a sister, Thelma of Canton; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held Friday at 11:00 am in Bethlehem Cemetery in Malvern with Mr. Kenny Thomas officiating. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
