Obituary
Jacob B. Weaver, of Minerva, OH, died on July 21, 2016, at 11:30 AM.
Jacob was born to Ben & Mattie (Miller) Weaver in Orville, Ohio, on May 26, 1941. Siblings were: Katie, (Amos) Stoll; John (Elizabeth) Weaver; Harry Weaver; Levi (Ida) Weaver; Malinda (Ray) Wagler; Annie (Enos) Graber; Betty (Glen) Graber; Lydia Weaver; and Ella (Marvin) Wagler.
While a youngster, his family lived in North Western PA for a few years, before settling in Daviess County IN. Here he met his wife, Anna Barbara (Knepp), and they were married on October 6, 1960. To this home were born 5 sons and 1 Daughter; Sylvan & Christine (Overholt) Weaver, Lewis & Karen (Mullet) Weaver, Robert & Vonnie (Lapp) Weaver, Arlene & Conrad Miller, Nelson Jay Weaver (Deceased), and Tim & Michelle (Yoder) Weaver. There are 20 Grandchildren, as well as 4 Great Grandchildren.
The Weaver family lived in Sarasota Florida for 27 years, during which time Jacob operated several businesses and was ordained as a Minister. As they approached retirement, they moved to Minerva Ohio, were they lived for the past 12 years.
Death came as result of a short but difficult battle with cancer. As he became ill, and realized that there was really no cure for the Stage 4 Cancer that had infested his body, his desire quickly shifted from prayers for healing, to praying that God would take him Home to Glory quickly. Jacob passed away peacefully and in accordance to his wishes, (in the comforts of his own home, and in the care of his dear wife, Anna Barbara, Children and Grandchildren), as well as with the assistance of Alliance Hospice Care of Alliance Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Ben & Mattie (Miller) Weaver, one Son, Nelson Jay Weaver, two Brothers, Harry Weaver & John Weaver, one Sister, Lydia Weaver, and one Sister-In-Law, Mary (Mrs. Levi) Weaver.
Visitation & Memorial to be held at Calvary Chapel, Louisville, OH, Saturday, July 23, from 10:30 am-2:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the Mt. Olive School in Montgomery, IN on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral will be on Monday at 10:00 at the School with Interment in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
