Jack Obney
Age 90 of Minerva died Friday March 22, 2013 in Canterbury Villa in Alliance. He was born March 13, 1923 in Minerva to Harry and Minnie (Laffer) Obney. He was a truck driver and had worked for the Railroad for 9 years, was the former owner of the Minerva Texaco Station and was a courier for National City Bank in Minerva. He is a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and the Minerva Knights of Columbus. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1941.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve (Lasduk) Obney who died in 1994 , a daughter, Judy Radanovich and a son, John Obney. He is survived by a son, Gary (Sue) Obney of Minerva; 4 grandchildren, Chris Ferris, Toni Marmon, Dan Radanovich and Diana Radanovich, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Monday at 1:00 pm in St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva with Father Victor Cinson as celebrant. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services at the church.
