Jack "David" Amos

Age 74, of North Canton, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family.  He was born Aug. 31, 1947 in Canton to Jack and Nan (English) Amos. He recently retired as a college professor where he had taught for 41 years at Lorain County Community College.  He also taught at John Carroll, Stark State and Mansfield Reformatory for Ashland College.  He had also been a Bank Trust Officer First Nation Bank (Bank One) of Ravenna and Lorain County National Bank (Huntington Bank).  He also had been a Financial Advisor at Baird in Fairlawn. He graduated from Scio High School in 1965, received a Bachelor's Degree Summa Cum Laude in Economics and History from Ohio University, and a Master of Arts in Economics from John Carroll.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (McDermott) Amos whom he married Feb. 5, 1971, brother-in-law, Jim (Liz) McDermott of Malvern, 2 nephews, Tyler McDermott of Cincinnati, James McDermott of Carrollton and 4 nieces, Justine McDermott (Aaron Reimann) of East Rochester, Sarah (Charlie) Riggs of Lincoln Nebraska, Caitlin Gruber of Canton, Olivia (Andrew) Rush of Massillon. Also special friend Tom "Spikeman" (Cindy) Spiker.

Dave loved playing cards. It was Cinch with Tom Spiker and 6-handed euchre at the Hoss's.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday Sept. 17 ^th at 10 am  in St. Francis Catholic Church in Malvern with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant.
