Iva Jane Ujcich, age 85, of Malvern went home to be with her Savior, Sunday, August 24, 2014 in the Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center surrounded by her family. She passed away following a two-year battle with cancer. She was born on May 9, 1929 to the late Walter and Hazel (Logan) Pariso. She was a graduate of Malvern High School's Class of 1947 and a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Malvern.
Iva Jane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She married her husband Stanley Ujcich in Gatlinburg, TN on September 10, 1956. Their son Stan was born in 1959 and he married wife Lori Haines in 1987. Their son Brennan was Iva ("Grammy")'s focus. She loved her duties as homemaker and always stayed involved in the lives of her son, and then grandson, whom she saw through from birth to college graduation.
Iva Jane's greatest desire in life was to be the perfect homemaker, providing love, stability and support for her family and friends. Always soft spoken, she guided the family through life asking for little in return.
Iva Jane is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Stanley Ujcich; son, Stan (Lori) Ujcich of Wooster; grandson, Brennan Ujcich; and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Barnes.
She is preceded in death by brothers, Robert "Bob", Walter Allen "Jim", John Logan "Chick", William "Bill" Pariso.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Allen Hill officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
