Obituary

Irene Johnson,age 88, of Minerva, went to be with the Lord, Feb. 14, 2017 surrounded by her loving family in the comfort care of Alliance Community Care Center.  She was born February 24, 1928 in Ulysses, Kentucky to William and Nora (Hale) George.  She retired from Ohio Drill & Tool, worked for J.C. Baxter Tube and Isalys.  She was a member of the First Church of God in Minerva, where she was a part of the N.E.O. Missionary Society, the Sunday School Superintendent, taught Sunday school and was a youth leader.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Elbert Johnson, who died June 29, 2004; 2 brothers, Jesse George, Rev. Howard George; and son-in-law, Larry Gram. She is survived by 2 daughters, Kaaren (Doug) Tinlin of Minerva, Linda (Ed) Musguire of Lisbon; 2 sons, Larry Johnson of Minerva, David (Theresa) Johnson of Tullahoma, TN; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday in the Great Trail Community Church of God in Minerva with Pastor Ray Martin officiating. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register book at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com . Memorial donations may be made to the church.
