Helen M. Perkins

Age 93, of Minerva, died Friday, Aug. 19 ^th 2022 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 25, 1928 in Sistersville, WV to Charles and Effie (Richeson) Christian. She worked for many years for Doctor Robert Hines and Doctor Sam Weir in Minerva and the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home and spent much of her free time helping others in the community.  She is a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church where she was a member of the CWC and spent many years as the church housekeeper and janitor.  She graduated from Sistersville High School in 1946 and was a member of the Minerva AARP #1808.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Perkins who died in 1988, 5 sisters, Hazel Bowen, Opal Patton, Jeanne Jones, Betty Bowen, Jessie Christian, 2 brothers, John and Robert Christian. She is survived by 3 sons, Steve (Kathy) Perkins of Kensington, Mike (Gayle) Perkins of Minerva, Scott Perkins of Minerva, 6 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren and a great great grandson.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant.  Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to services at the church from 10-11 am.
