Helen V. Hart, Age 87, of Minerva, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 in the Cleveland Clinic. She was born Nov. 2, 1927 in Sardis, OH to William and Grace (Wonhas) Simms. She retired from TRW Metals in Minerva. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1945, is a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School Class for many years and is a member of the United Methodist Women. She is a past worthy matron of Esther Chapter #120 OES and a member and inspiration for the "Angel's with a Hart" Relay for Life Team.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hart who died in 2004, 4 sisters; Geraldine Simms, Dorothy Simms, Mary Lee Flanagan and Ruth Ann Simms, 4 brothers; Stanley, Harold and Robert and Richard Simms and a grandson, Aaron Hart. She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Hart of Minerva, 3 sons; Tom (Cheryl) Hart of Minerva, Charles Hart of Clemson, SC and Joe Hart of Marion, 4 brothers; James (Ruth Ann) Simms of Congress Lake, Larry (Christine) Simms of Minerva, Dave Simms of SC and Mike (Linda) Simms of Malvern, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 1-3 pm prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to Minerva United Methodist Church or The Relay for Life.
