Harry "Eddy" Sumner
Age 92, of East Rochester died Sat. May 11, 2013 in his home. He was born Oct. 31, 1920 in Darlington, PA to Harry and Luzania (Rose) Sumner. He was a truck driver for many years and a member of the Teamsters Union. He was also a US Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Anna (Jurkiewicz) Sumner whom he married in 1940, daughter, Genevieve Drake of Washington State, son, Howard (Jill) Sumner of Canton, sister, Virginia Tessamous of East Liverpool, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Oyer, a son, Richard Sumner and a sister, Olive Young.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12 noon in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Lyn Houze from Community Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Quaker Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
